Sport

Sport is conducted for Years 3 to 6 each Friday. The availability of venues will determine whether activities will occur in the morning or afternoon.

Detailed notes are sent home to inform parents of winter and summer sports arrangements, and to allow children to nominate their choice of sports.

Sports include swimming, cricket, tennis, squash, basketball, softball, netball, touch football or soccer.

The necessary fees for court hire, pool entry and bus travel are payable weekly (on Friday) or as a term payment.  Details are outlined in a sport notice that is sent out to parents at the beginning of each school term.

Children are encouraged to wear their sports uniform on Friday.

Children in K - 2 do not require a sports uniform as they do not participate in the senior sport program. They do however have regular, weekly skill based P.E. activities on a class or stage basis.

Children are encouraged to participate in the sporting activities arranged by the Public School Sports Association (PSSA). Zone, Regional and State carnivals are arranged regularly for the major sports.

Lismore Public School conducts annual Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals.

* The school asks that parents complete a long term permission note each year to cover local walking excursions and sport activities involving local bus travel. This note is distributed each year.
